Reading walks
Reading to Goring
This is the eleventh stage of the multi-day route "Railways and Waterways, between Oxford and London".
A varied walk past Christchurch Bridge, through the Reading Festival site, past Mapledurham Lock alongside the scenic Chiltern Hills, across a toll bridge, through woodland and beside the river again to the spectacular Goring Gap.
Tilehurst to Reading Railway Station
After crossing the railway and descending the steps to the river bank this is a level walk on a good path along the banks of the River Thames, between trees at first then opening out. Nearer Reading there are benches along the Thames promenade, ideal for a picnic on a sunny day.
Reading Waterways Circular
A level walk on good paths with plenty of wildlife along the River Thames and River Kennet, passing through some of the older areas of the town.
From Reading Station to The Flowing Spring pub
Lovely walk along the Thames from Reading Station to The Flowing Spring pub.
