Billinge Hill from Rainford

Description of the walk

(S/E) Take Rainford Linear Park pathway south. Carefully cross Cross Pit Lane to the continuation of Rainford Linear Park running South.

(1) Turn right, southwest, and follow Rookery Lane.

(2) At the road junction, take Church Road South (left).

(3) Very carefully cross Rainford Bypass and briefly turn northwest (right) along the cycleway. Take disused track southwest (left) running between fields.

(4) Turn northwest (right) to follow Reed's Lane. Upon reaching Reeds Farm an alternative footpath has been provided running South (left) around farm buildings. Carefully cross Mossborough Lane to pick up the farm track heading northwest.

(5) Follow the track as it heads South beside Claires Moss Wood. Follow Mossborough Hall Lane West (right).

(6) Take Coach Road North (right).

(7) Turn northeast (right) along Dairy Farm Road, carefully cross Rainford bypass to continue along the lane.

(8) Turn briefly North (left) along Ormskirk Road. Leave B5203 on the footpath heading northeast (right) between fields onto the track.

(9) Follow Junction Road North (right).

(10) Take path northeast through trees to Linear Park track and turn North (left) back to start.(S/E)
