Description of the walk

Go to the large car park located on the edge of Trez-Bellec Beach, at the intersection between the D208 and Hent an Aod.

(S/E) Facing the ocean, exit the car park and turn right. Follow the cycle path along the road for about 50 metres, then cross the road to join theGR®34coastal path, marked in white and red and indicated by a wooden sign.

(1) After about 700 metres, you can go left or right. Take the left and continue on the GR®. Follow the path along the coast until you reach a dirt car park at Trez Bihan beach.

(2) Continue left on theGR®. Once in the pine forest, begin the steepest climb of the hike. After this climb, continue left on theGR® to follow the Falaises du Guern cliffs, as close as possible to the coast. At the "Pointe du Guern" sign, climb left to the Pointe du Guern.

(3) Take a break here to admire the view. Facing the ocean, on the left are the Falaises du Guern cliffs, and on the right are Poul Beach, Source Beach, Aber Beach and the southern coast of the Crozon Peninsula.
After your break, retrace your steps to find the "Pointe du Guern" sign. There, turn left onto theGR® trail which descends through the pine trees. Continue along this path overlooking Poul Beach.

(4) After the beach, there are a few pine trees and you can either continue along the coast or climb up to the right. Continue along the coastal path, turning left, and after a few hundred metres you will arrive above La Source beach.

(5) Continue along the path, going down and up steps. At the top, leave theGR® and take the path on the right. After about 800 m, you will arrive at the hamlet of Kerglintin Tréboul.

(6) Once in the hamlet, take the path on the right, marked at its entrance by a no-entry sign, and after about 500 m, you will arrive at a crossroads.

(7) Turn left, walk alongside a dirt car park and then take the path on the right until you reach a fork after about 300 metres.

(8) Then turn right. Next, there is a path on the left that goes downhill. Do not take it, but continue straight ahead until you reach the fork in the road.

(9) Turn onto the path on the right that enters the woods. Continue along this path until you come to a small tarmac road, the VC40.

(10) Follow this road on the right for about 300 metres until you reach the first path on the left.

(11) Take this path, which becomes tarmac and runs alongside houses. After about 700 m, turn right, still on the tarmac path, and continue to the give way sign.

(12) Turn right and follow the D208 along the track to the car park (S/E).

Notes

From the start to Plage de la Source, there are quite a few rocks and some elevation changes.
The rest of the route is flatter and less uneven.
There are shaded areas, but only in the wooded sections.
So make sure you wear good shoes and bring plenty of water.
Also bring a towel, just in case.
It's best to go on a sunny day, without too much wind and with the tide closer to high than low (under these conditions, the scenery will be more beautiful).
For the average person, it takes about 3½ hours to complete this circular route, including breaks.
Enjoy your hike!

Along the cliffs, the view is truly magnificent! Be careful not to get lost on the route from point (3)! We found ourselves completely lost at point (6)! We had actually taken the route backwards from that point, but without realising it, so of course nothing matched the descriptions. We retraced our steps and were very happy, because we were tired, to find a tarmac road for the final stretch. The diagram below the explanations is very good. I should have consulted it more carefully, as it might have prevented us from going round in circles in the hamlet.
It was a wonderful first experience, and I will definitely consult Visorando again for a future hike.

A beautiful hike with magnificent scenery! The route is never monotonous and the trails are varied. We did it in the opposite direction to the description, ending with the coastal path. We extended it to the island of Aber (accessible at low tide) for a total of 14 km.
