Park in the village of Barroca, in a car park on the left-hand side of a street just before the church when approaching from the EN238. Start by heading north, keeping the church on your right.
A walk starting from the village of Barroca (Beira-Baixa region), situated on the banks of the River Zézere (a tributary of the Tagus). This is an area of traditional schist-stone architecture, where you can see some old houses or those restored in the local traditional style. The route follows the riverbank (weather permitting). Along the way, you can see the ruins of traditional buildings and the remains of a mining processing plant that has profoundly altered the natural landscape.
