Peover Lane to Bate Mill

Start: Along Peover Lane, Chelford. Grid ref. SJ 813 742

(S/E) Start on Peover Lane and take the footpath under the railway and onto Common Farm Lane. Follow this until reaching Pepper Street and turn left.

(1) Continue into Chelford Lane and then take the track on the left towards Moss Farm. Follow the path through the big gates after Moss Farm and continue to Well Bank Lane and turn right.

(2) Turn left towards Grotto Lane down a very narrow road and then turn left into Grotto Lane. After a short distance turn right along the footpath by a gate. Follow the footpath to Foxwood Farm and then towards Red Lane.

(3) Turn left at Red Lane and follow this lane until just before it reaches Holmes Chapel Road and turn left along the footpath towards Bate Mill.

(4) Turn right at Bate Mill along Batemill Lane and take the footpath on the right immediately after the railway bridge.

(5) Turn right at Boundary Lane and then turn right at Snelson Lane.

(6) After a short while take the path on the left and cross the railway and turn left at Peover Lane. Continue on to the start of the walk.(S/E)
