Description of the walk

Start: Barley Car Park, Burnley (BB12 9JX). Grid ref. SD 823 403

(S/E) Exit the car park walking toward the main road, cross it to take Barley Green (South). After a couple of meters take the footpath on the right walking into the fields. Continue straight on this upper path (West) until reaching a road (1.2 Km).

(1) Turn left (South) to continue on the road going down to Lower Ogden reservoir.

(2) At the reservoir take right (South-West) to join the Pendle Way. Continue straight on Pendle Way until the end of Buttock Plantation. Then turn right up the road and then again right (North) and continue until the end of the road.

(3) At the intersection of paths, take left (North-West) and then continue straight up hill (North-West) until reaching Pendle Hill summit.

(4) At the summit continue straight (North) on the Pendle Way path until an intersection of paths. Take right to go down following the Pendle Way. Keep on the Pendle Way path going down until reaching Barley village and the main road (2.3 Km).

(5) Take right at the road to walk back to the car park. (S/E)
