Warning: this route has no description and relatively few waypoints, so it does not offer the same guarantees as the hikes usually published on Visorando.
One of the most beautiful hikes in the area, in our opinion. At the foot of the Mondeval massif, equipped climbing routes. So many marmots that you can see them everywhere, especially in the valley before the first pass. Option to continue to the Col della Puena. Many options for returning if you have arranged transport.

Practical information
Other walks in the area
Tour of the Cinque Torri via Lake Limides
This hike will take you close to the Cinque Torri, five stone towers overlooking the Cortina d'Ampezzo valley, and follow in the footsteps of the conflicts between Italian and Austro-Hungarian troops during the First World War (trenches, barracks, etc.). The passage by the magnificent Lake Limides will offer you a refreshing and bucolic break.
Lake Coldai
Medium to difficult hike. No technical sections but 800 metres of elevation gain.
The start of the hike is located in a ski resort, so the first part follows a piste.
The hike then arrives at Col dei Baldi (it is possible to arrive directly here by cable car in high season and "only" climb 450 metres).
The last part of the hike connects the Col dei Baldi to Lago Coldai on a rocky trail that climbs for about 3 kilometres and 450 metres of elevation gain.
Cascata Ru de Rialt
An easy, short hike that takes you to a beautiful waterfall.
The hike starts in Alleghe and follows the lake.
Be sure to wear proper hiking boots, as the end of the hike is on a small scree slope.
Le Lac de Sorapis
Lake Sorapis is a magnificent turquoise lake of glacial origin at the foot of the peak known as Le Doigt de Dieu (God's Finger).
Please note: a user reported on 15 June 2025 that
>the cumulative elevation gain according to our two GPS devices is approximately 400/450m (and definitely not 935m) , and it took us 3 hours and 15 minutes walking at a fairly normal pace.
Loop around the Sella massif from Boè
This circuit on the eastern slope of the Sella massif is a very accessible loop hike with minimal elevation gain and no major technical difficulties. However, you do need to be in good physical shape. Geologically speaking, it's really cool because the hike passes through rock formations typical of the Dolomites and offers breathtaking views.
Tre Cime di Lavaredo
A major tourist attraction... definitely worth a visit!!!
But now you have to remember to book your parking space in advance (30 euros) and, if you don't get a space in the upper car park and you're not a keen walker, it's 10 euros per person for the bus.
It's a steep climb! There's a short, fairly strenuous section for about 15 minutes near the end of the climb to the refuge. You can take a 10-minute shortcut along the road to avoid having to go back up if you're tired.
The problem is that once you get to the top, you're a bit too tired to go around the "Tre Cime". It is possible to push on to another viewpoint towards the more rugged mountains opposite.
Also worth noting: take 50p and £1 coins for the toilets.
Circular around Sassolungo
A beautiful circular loop without any lifts, but for experienced mountaineers. The first descent is quite slippery with gravel. The first ascent is a winding path. Some areas may be snow-covered all year round. Follow paths 525 and then 526 carefully.
Hike without description to be followed using the Visorando app.
The Tour des Tre Cime (the 3 peaks)
You will drive around the famous Tre Cime massif, neither too far nor too close, so you can admire it from all angles. Part of the route is very quiet, even in summer. No difficulty, just pure pleasure!
