Park in the small car park at the end of the access road to the hamlet of Les Bergonnes.
(S/E) Walk about 30 metres along the road, turn left and then immediately right onto a wide dirt track that leads to the Croix des Terments.
(1) Continue on the left, then after about 100 metres, take a narrower path on the right. Then turn left to come out at the bottom of a meadow. Follow the signs for "panorama".
(2) Turn left to climb up to the Beauregard site and its splendid panorama of the Mont Blanc massif.
(3) A picnic is entirely possible and even recommended here. Then descend the meadow.
(2) Here, things get complicated or interesting. Leave the path you took to climb up and head straight south-southeast, zigzagging through the successive clearings. Join a wide dirt track and turn left to follow it for about 200 metres, passing under the high-voltage power lines.
(4) Leave the path and turn right, heading south-east. Skirt the edge of a small wood and bear left. Cross a barely marked trail to reach the beautiful "Tour du Valromey" path (doubleGR® -GRP® markings) at the bottom of the valley, which you take on the right. After a fairly straight stretch, the path
takes a first sharp right turn, then a second left turn.
(5) About a hundred metres further on, turn right and continue climbing until you reach a T-junction.
(6) Turn right and continue for about 300 metres.
(7) Leave the path, turn left at a right angle and climb up to the edge of the clearing or slightly into the pine forest to cross the hill and reach Combe Danoi. From there, turn right and climb north-north-west, following the cattle track, or not, the aim being to reach the bottom of the valley. Freedom!
Don't forget to take a look at the karst depression, which was formed when the roof of a cave collapsed due to the flow of springs. The combe has a number of these sinkholes.
Geologists who accompanied me on this hike explained that the entire valley is a complex and extensive collapse.
Continue until you reach a grassy path, which you should take to the left.
(8) Leave the path by turning left to join another, well-marked path (GRP® Tour du Valromey), which you take on the left. At the next crossroads, turn right, passing under the power lines, and continue to the second clearing.
(9) Leave this wide path again and turn right, climbing through a series of clearings heading north until you reach the edge of the wooded area.
(10) Turn right, then immediately left, following the contour line, until you reach the path you took at the very beginning. Turn left to quickly return to the car park (S/E).
