A short walk to visit the Pancake Rocks, which is best done at high tide if the sea is rough, but is also nice at low tide.

Description of the walk

Start: Park in the large purpose-built car park and then proceed toward the stores and the Department of Conservation (DOC) building.

(S/E) Cross the road and take the paved path, turning left at the intersection to complete the circular walk clockwise. The path winds through the vegetation before reaching the first viewpoint.

(1) Continue along the path until you reach the "blow hole".

(2) Enjoy the different viewpoints and the show of the waves on the rocks. Carry on along the path back to the starting point (S/E)
