Start: Small car park at the end of a long offroad access on the right, about 1 km North of Punakaiki.
(S/E) From where you parked, carry on the path and cross the bridge, which is closed to vehicles. Beautiful views of the surrounding cliffs and lots of native pigeons.
(1) At the path junction, keep right. The track becomes a path as you enter the woodland.
(2) At the junction with the memorial information board, keep left. Carry on this well-maintained, and fairly leveled forest track, then at the end, which descends, to reach the resurgence via a flight of steps.
(3) At the bottom of the stairs, depending on the water level and the weather, you can visit the cave on your right from which the water flows. Then retrace your steps back to the starting point (S/E).
