Mottram St Andrew to Hare Hill

(S/E) Start the walk in a small park off Alderley Road. The entrance to the park is between two houses. Keep to the right hand side of the park and take the footpath through the hedge and across a small stream.

(1) Head up the hill and turn left in the woods. Follow the well marked path to Hare Hill being careful to keep right at Alder Wood where the path splits. There is a small lake soon after the entrance to the grounds of Hare Hill. Follow the path, up the hill, towards the gardens and a small road. You can choose to visit the gardens at this point.

(2) Exit Hare Hill by the small road onto Prestbury Road.

(3) Turn left and keep left on this road until turning left into Oak Road towards Withinlee Farm. Follow this quiet road back to Mottram St Andrew.

(4) Turn left at Alderley Road and back to the start of the walk. There are some wooden sculptures and a bench at the intersection of Oak Road and Priest Lane at the village green.(S/E)

In wet weather, the path can be very muddy after you leave the small park in Mottram up to the ridge.
