Depart from the small car park just below the Mont des Cats antenna.
The route is signposted 'Autour du Monastère'.
(S/E) From the car park at the foot of the antenna, head towards the cemetery and turn left along it, then down to the road. Turn right onto the road, then take the first left onto Chemin de la Confiscation.
(1) At the end, turn left onto Chemin du Noyer, pass the model airfield and continue to the crossroads. Turn left, then take the first right onto Rue de Godewaersvelde.
(2) At the chapel, turn left up the footpath. You'll see the village of Berthen and Mont Noir just behind. When you reach the road (at the 'Le Meuledick' hall), turn left. At the bend in the road, you'll see the monastery at the top of the hill.
(3) At the intersection with a small chapel, turn right towards Boeschèpe. Leave the road quickly and take the path on the right. At the road, turn left to reach the top of Mont de Boeschepe (139 m).
(4) At the intersection, turn right and then immediately left. Take the orange-sand path through the woods, and at the end, turn left.
(5) Pass the "Notre-Dame de toutes les peurs" chapel. This chapel was built in 1717. Continue in a north-westerly direction.
(6) At the chapel, turn left onto Rue de la Chapelle Focquemprez. Take the second road on the left, up towards Mont des Cats. Climb the small path on the left through the woods.
(7) Just before the road, turn right and into the woods and go straight down to the road on the left. Turn right down the narrow path towards the Auberge du Catsberg.
(8) Pass the Auberge du Catsberg and continue. Cross the road and continue to the left. At the intersection, turn right, then left a few metres further on, Chemin de la Boulangerie. Continue straight ahead along the footpath. When you reach the road, take the 2nd left (avoiding the barracks).
(9) Go up a small path on the left, just past a house. Follow the abbey wall.
(10) At the road, at a white house dating back to 1894, continue left, still following the abbey wall. Pass the calvary and follow the road to the abbey store. Go forward a few metres to enjoy the panorama, visit the Church of Sainte-Constance to the right of the monastery entrance and then turn back.
Then take the path on the left into the Hermitage woods (just opposite the abbey store) and stay on the path at the top, close to the road.
(11) You arrive at the Chapelle de la Passion (rarely open). At the back is a "Tomb of Christ" where you can find pieces of cloth hanging from the grid. These cloths, worn by the sick, were hung in hope or thanks for healing. Continue along the path to the right to return to the car park at the foot of the antenna (S/E).
