Notes

All Saints Church is worth a visit. There is a bench in the sheltered churchyard with a lovely view north-west.

At the end of the walk, visit the Lord Nelson pub in Middle Winterslow for a refreshing drink.

To find out more about the Clarendon Way which goes from Winchester to Salisbury, there is an excellent map produced by Nick Hill which can be bought at the Tourist Information Office in Salisbury (also www.nickhillmaps.co.uk)

The book "The Inheritance" by Mark Dawson featuring the detective Atticus Priest is based around the western end of the Clarendon Way, in particular Pitton and Middle Winterslow. The Lord Nelson pub and All Saints Church feature in the book.

Worth a visit

Both Salisbury and Winchester are well worth a visit. Near this route is the town of Stockbridge on the River Test, an important fly-fishing area.
