Description of the route

Departure from the Montigny Vélo Nature cycling club, 101 Rue du Haut-Rhêle.

(S/E) Take the Chemin du Haut-Rhêle towards the Moselle and follow it to the end, after passing the hamlet of Le Poncet. Continue straight ahead, then turn right through the woods and join the path along the banks of the Moselle. Turn left and join the tarmac road.

(1) Go straight ahead on the road and take the circular ramp on the left to go up onto the bridge. Cross it towards Moulin-les-Metz (on the left-hand side), then turn immediately left at the bottom of the descent towards Tennis de la Saussaie. Go back under the bridge, follow the banks of the Moselle and join the start of the Charles le Téméraire greenway.

(2) Follow the greenway.

(3) Bridge over the Fossé des Vieilles Eaux. Pass under the railway bridge, then join the bridge over the Vieille Moselle and kilometre point 5.25.

(4) Take the exit on the left, pass under the railway line again and arrive at the end of Rue du Lavoir. Turn right and follow Rue du Général de Gaulle, then keep to the right-hand lane and follow the D603 to the bridge over the Moselle.

(5) Climb the pedestrian ramp, cross the Pont de Verdun and quickly reach thefirst street on the right.

(6) Follow this street, Promenade de la Goulotte, towards the F-C Metz Youth Technical Centre and join it.

(7) Continue along the path closest to the Moselle until you reach a crossroad. Turn right, cross the bridge over the motorway, then the bridge over a branch of the Moselle and finally the canal. You will reach a give way sign at the bottom of the slope.
(8) Turn right onto Rue Herckmann Chatrian and follow the cycle path marked on the ground. Continue right onto Rue des Noisetiers.

(9) At the four-way intersection, continue straight ahead on Rue des Vergers and, at the end, first turn right then left and continue left on Rue du Fossé, right on Rue des Vergers, right on Rue de Bellevue and left on Rue du Bac.

(10) At the four-way intersection, turn right then left onto Rue du 8 Mai 1945 and follow it to the end.

(11) Turn right onto Rue des Ponts, and at the end, turn right again, then left onto Passage du Haut Rhêle.
Go under the railway bridge and at the roundabout, turn right onto Rue du Haut Rhêle, towards the waste collection centre. Cross the bridge over the canal and you will arrive at the Montigny Vélo Nature club (S/E).
