The resurgences and the source of the Touvre

Departure from the car park at the springs in Touvre.

(S/E) Head west, pass a chicane and follow a path. After about 100 metres, at a crossroads, turn right onto a shaded stone track. Continue to the next wooden chicane.

(1) Take the dirt track on the left and walk along a fence. Pass between two houses, come out onto Rue de l'Église and follow it to the left until you reach the church (viewpoint over the Touvre).

(2) Turn around and return to the car park.

(S/E) Head south-east and leave the car park. Then take Rue des Sources (D57) on the right. Cross the railway line at the level crossing and you will immediately arrive at the town hall. Then turn right onto Route du Pontil.

(3) Just before the bridge over the river, turn left onto Rue du Lavoir. Shortly afterwards, at the end of the tarmac road, continue along a path and follow a stream on your right. Cross the stream and now follow it on your left.

(4) You will come out onto Route des Sources (D57) and follow it to the right. Just before the roundabout, you will find the wash house and the Lèches resurgence (benches, stone table) on your right.

(5) Turn around and return to the car park (S/E).

For the first part, hiking boots are preferable for walking on the stony track.

Swimming in the lakes is prohibited due to the dangerous eddies caused by the resurgences.
