Worth a visit

(1) The Ales Stenar megaliths (Ale’s Stones) form a spectacular 67-metre-long ship-shaped structure, composed of 59 massive blocks of granite and sandstone arranged to resemble the hull of a ship. Erected around the year 600 AD, towards the end of the Nordic Iron Age, this exceptional historical monument served as an elite burial site or ceremonial centre, whilst displaying a remarkable geometric alignment with the summer and winter solstices.
