Departure from the picnic room at the Pertuyzat cross-country ski area.
(S/E) Follow the signposts for the Pertuyzat area; the three routes 1, 2 and 3 are indicated on these posts.
Start heading west, following the posts (1, 2, 3). After alternating between a short descent followed by a short climb, you will reach the junction of routes (1, 2) and (3).
(1). Leave route (1,2) heading south and take route (3) heading due west.
Reach Lake Pavin and start the tour by turning right. You will come to a crossroads.
(2) Leave the path along the lake on your left and climb up into the forest. Stay on the signposted route (3), then stop at the viewpoint overlooking the lake (developed area).
Continue north-east until you reach the junction of routes (2) and (3).
(3) Follow the signs (3). Head east then north-east around Puy de Pertuyzat.
(4) Return to the car park (S/E).
