Description of the walk

Park in the large car park before the Auberge de Logibar, which is closed in winter. You can also park in front of the inn or closer by, next to the Pont de la Mouline, which is accessed from behind the inn.

(S/E) Start walking alongside the road and head towards the Pont de Logibar.

(1) Head towards the Pont de la Mouline and take the path opposite, which used to be the GR®10. Then, three hairpin bends further up, reach a magnificent ridge facing due east.

(2) Follow it, continuing the climb via a few steps in places. Continue along this path to reach a mountain track.

(3) Turn 180° to the right to follow this track due south, which also follows the PR® route and its yellow markings. Stay on this route until you reach the junction by the buildings at Cayolar d'Ardakotchia, where you will rejoin the GR®10.

(4) Turn left onto it and continue the climb to reach Cayolar d'Abarakia.

(5) Leave the GR® here, cut across the small hairpin bend in the track and then follow the track up to the summit of Négumendi.

(6) Arrival at Négumendi. Enjoy the view here, then begin the descent via the path opposite. Go round Zegnhaguia on the left. Caution here: follow the trail and your GPS carefully, as the path is not very easy to see in places.

(7) Continue down the slope to the right (the path is muddy in places) and head for theCol des Trois Croix. Walk down the track for about thirty metres to see the Trois Croix on the left-hand side of the track.

(8) Then continue due west along a track until you reach a hairpin bend.

(9) Leave the track to take a short cut down a grassy slope to avoid a large hairpin bend. A few metres further on, you will come to the crossroads you passed on the way out.

(3) Follow the route taken on the way out in the opposite direction, via the Logibar Bridge.

(1) Return to the Logibar car park (S/E).

Notes

Between (7) and (8): on the descent, at the Zegnhaguia bypass and descent, keep a close eye on your GPS as the path is not very easy to see in places.
(9) it is possible to reach the (3) by avoiding the shortcut, via a longer route along the track with a hairpin bend. Please note:the shortcut on the descent should be avoided during wood pigeon hunting season. There is a shooting range at the small pass.

It took us 7 hours and 25 minutes, taking our time and stopping frequently to eat and admire the scenery on a beautiful sunny day. Normally, it can be done in 6 hours and 30 minutes.

Worth a visit

(4) Viewpoint to the west on the Pic d'Orhy.
(6) Viewpoint to the east on Pic d'Anie.
(8) The three small stone crosses.

Hello.
You have to walk (downhill) to point 8 to reach the foot of the three crosses.
As you can see in the photo, these crosses are no more than 50 cm high.

Enchanted by this hike. The snow-capped peaks of the Basque Country lend a certain grandeur to this modest mountain hike.
A thin layer of snow covers the ground around the Negubemdi summit.
The guidebook describes the main difficulties (very slippery ground on the steps, follow the GPS carefully on the descent to Tegnhaguia and the Col des 3 Croix (didn't see any crosses...).
