The Bois des Girondins and the Moulin Papon from the Annexe

Park in the Annexe car park.

(S/E) Return to Rue de l'Annexe (D80).

(1) Follow it to the right. At the roundabout, continue straight on to Malvoisine.

(2) Take the path on the left.

(3) Take the bridge over the four-lane road and continue straight ahead, crossing the D16O.

(4) Go under the railway line and continue straight ahead until you reach Mainguisiére.

(5) Then turn left and continue to the third intersection on the left.

(6) Turn left towards Les Bas Ajoncs. At the Route des Fermes des Ajoncs, take a first turn right then left to follow the north-northeast road along the hamlet on your right. This will take you to a T-junction.

(7) Turn right and, 200 m further on, right again. Continue straight ahead to the gliding area.

(8) Immediately afterwards, take the path on the left and follow it to the road at a four-way intersection.

(9) Follow the road to the left for about 250 metres until you reach a fork.

(10) There are several ways to cross the Bois des Girondins.
The route suggests continuing left to the end of the road, then continuing left again (due west) along a path that then turns right and runs alongside a stream. Follow it to the right and turn right again to reach the Riot at a footbridge.

(11) Turn left, cross the two footbridges and join the^GRP®® Tour du Pays Yonnais.

(12) Turn left and follow the^GRP®, cross two roads and join the first car park.

(13) Take the bridge on your right.

(14) Turn left onto the narrow, steep path, which starts on the hillside and then becomes more passable. You will arrive at a road.

(15) You can continue along the lake.
Take this road on the right, cross the Dompierre road further on and take the path opposite.

(16) Cross the Ruisseau du Coux stream via a pleasant little sunken path to reach a T-junction.
Crossing the stream can be tricky.

(17) Turn left until you reach the next four-way crossroads.

(18) Turn left, heading due east, onto the^GRP®® variant until you reach the junction with a road.

(19) Cross the road and take the path opposite to reach the lake shore.

(20) Turn right onto the GRP®® variant^. Further on, cross the dam. The path is a little steep and rocky at the start.

(21) Reach a road opposite and follow it to the left until you reach La Bretèche.

(22) At the exit of La Bretèche, take the path heading due east along the railway line until you reach the fork you passed on the way there.

(4) Turn right to pass under the railway line and, taking the same path as on the way there, return to the Annexe (S/E).

It is possible to avoid this section of the Ruisseau des Coux by following the lake shore from (15) to (20).
