Start in front of the Auberge de l'Étang du Devin. The car park is reserved for guests. Another parking space is available near the final bend leading to the establishment.
(S/E) Continue along the track at the end of the car park.
(1) Follow the Red Rectangle path towards the Étang du Devin bog.
(2) From the bog, continue along the path that branches off to the left of the pond, following the same markings towards the Tête des Faux. The path climbs steadily through the forest. Ignore the various logging tracks and continue the ascent to the former arrival station of the German army’s cable car.
(3) Continue along the path to the Roche du Corbeau. After a short flat section, the path steepens and takes you up a gruelling climb to the summit of the Tête des Faux.
You must then continue downwards towards the south-west, towards the former French defence lines.
(5) At the bottom of the first slope (1160 m), leave the Red Rectangle to follow the Red Rectangle with a white bar until you reach a wide forest track.
(6) Follow it to the right (Green Ring markings).
(7) At the hairpin bend, continue along the wide path descending to the left, then leave it a little further on for a discreet, unmarked wild track that branches off to the right.
(8) Walk along this unmarked path until it joins the Green Ring path. Follow this path to the left. After a few hundred metres, it reaches the Auberge de l’Étang du Devin; keep to the right (S/E).
