Opposite Saint-Nazaire, the Vélodyssée runs along the western and northern edges of the Pays de Retz. This is a wonderful opportunity to cycle along it, first past the beaches of Saint-Brévin and then Tharon-Plage, before heading north-east through a lovely stretch of wooded countryside interspersed with two coastal marshes, and finally returning to the starting point whilst counting the fishing villages dotted along the banks of the Loire.

A superb walk along the Côte de Jade. The scenery alternates between beaches and cliffs, with numerous well-preserved fishing huts that are used during the summer months. You can see two megaliths at La Joselière and La Fontaine aux Bretons.
A one-way walk between Pornic station and Port du Collet: make arrangements for your return journey.
