Start at Avenue Félicien Rops, near the Youth Hostel.
(S/E) Head towards the park and walk along the Meuse on your right towards Namur. Turn left before a lock and move slightly away from the river. You will come out onto Avenue de la Plante (N92). Follow it to the right, along the Meuse. Then turn left, still on Avenue de la Plante.
(1) At the corner of Rue Saint-Martin, at the foot of Route Merveilleuse, turn left and climb the side of the Citadel via Tienne des Biches. At the top, turn left.
(2) To the left of the Esplanade and the stadium stands, take a path that leads to the gardens of Namur Castle. Follow Avenue de l'Ermitage. At a triangle of roads, turn right twice to reach Rue du Milieu du Monde.
(3) Turn left. At the end, turn left onto Route de La Vecquée.
(4) Before a right-hand bend in the road, take a dirt track on the right. Cross a section of the Bois de La Marlagne (GR® Saint-Jacques de Compostelle, Chemin Fernand Séverin).
(5) In open terrain, at an intersection, continue straight ahead with theGR® and ignore a turn-off on the left.
(6) Shortly before reaching Avenue de la Vecquée, turn right. Follow theGR®, passing an old bunker.
(7) Turn right towards the north side of the Citadel and La Marlagne, on the Sambre side. Follow the main path, ignoring the paths on the left, until you reach a fork.
(8) Then turn left and head west until you reach a crossroads.
(9) Turn left and ignore a turn-off on the left. At the crossroads, go straight ahead. Ignore all turn-offs on the right.
(10) At an intersection, turn right (south) and then immediately left (east). Ignore a turn-off on the left. At the next junction, turn right. Find a road and follow it to the left.
(11) Cross Route de la Navinne and continue straight ahead along a path between the various properties, between hedges and gardens, until you reach a road. Cross this road, then continue along the small path towards the woods. Cross Avenue de la Vecquée and continue straight ahead.
(12) On the slope of the dirt track, turn left at a crossroads. Head east and cross a road. You will come out onto Rue des Camps. Follow it to the left and pass under a high-voltage power line. At the T-junction, follow Rue des Fort to the left and pass a water tower.
(13) After about 400 metres, just after a house, turn right onto a dirt track and go uphill. At the edge of a wood, turn left towards the remains of some tarmac tracks. Head north until you reach a road.
(14) Follow the road to the right (Rue Lecomte). Take the first path on the left. Continue through the woods to the memorial located at a crossroads.
(15) Follow the path on the left and head north-west. Ignore the paths on the left. Cross Avenue de la Vecquée and continue on the path opposite.
(5) At the end, turn right (GR®) and cross a wooded area.
(4) Turn right at the intersection you have already taken. At the wooden chapel, take the Tienne Hola path on the left, which descends. Enjoy the view of the Meuse. Continue straight ahead and, further on, cross the N92. Continue along Rue Alphonse Delonnoy until you reach the Meuse. Then turn left and follow the river back to the starting point (S/E).
At the Meuse, turn left and return to the starting point (S/E).
