Khumjung - Lukla

The last stage of the 3 Passes Trek, this hike descends to Lukla where some may take a flight from the famous Tenzing-Hillary Airport to return directly to Kathmandu. The stage crosses Namche Bazaar again, where you can stock up on souvenirs before heading back down.

Worth a visit

Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Lukla, said by some to be the most dangerous in the world! Indeed, the runway is impressive (approximately 500 metres with a 12% slope). You can sometimes watch the morning take-offs and landings before continuing on to Salleri.
