Park your car in Lynton at Cross Street car park.
(S/E) From the car park, turn right heading to Lee Road. Bear right, go past the Town Council before you go up the driveway on the left for a few meters.
(1) Bear left for 150 metres before your track bends sharply left following "Hollerday House (site of)". Continue this way until you reach a junction signpost.
(2) Follow "Valley of Rocks", then go up right at the fork before you follow "Summit 800 ft".
(3) Walk this lovely path that overlooks the Valley of Rocks leading to Hollerday Hill. On your way, you can notice the remains of an iron age fort before the top! At the summit, you can see Lynmouth Bay and Foreland Point on the Eastside. On the Westside, you can admire Duty and Crock Points far away. Retrace your steps to the last junction.
(4) Bear sharply right and descend the zig-zag path which leads to the Valley of Rocks. When you reach a stone building next to the road, take the concrete footpath sharply right which leads to a kind of "pass". descend until you reach the coastal path signpost. Turn left walking the path along the cliff with great views to the Bristol Channel for almost half a mile.
(5) Go across the large roundabout, cross over the road. Ignore the path leading to Mother Meldrum's Cave but take the narrow path across ferns which ascends South Cleave on the right. Be careful, this section is inclined and very steep! Avoid this way during wet condition!
(6) After this short but pretty hard section (make the effort, the view is worth a look!!!), bear left at the fork until the path finally levels. You overlook the whole valley for almost one kilometre before the path bends right and the view opens to Lynton. Go down the path until you reach a junction signpost.
(7) Follow the "public footpath to Lynton 1/4" on the right until you join Lydiate Lane. Bear left, descend the road for 250 metres. Turn left when you reach Crossmead Road. At Lee Road, turn right following this road for 300 metres until you reach the crossroads with Cross Street.(S/E)
