Description of the walk

Park in the Gorge car park.

(S/E) Take the only path along the Tugela River, which leads to a clearly marked first intersection.

(1) Turn left and cross the stream. Continue along the only path running alongside the river. As the river is not very full during this winter period (August), it was difficult to see a waterfall. Nevertheless, the hike is still very beautiful, with the possibility of seeing some baboons or antelopes. Reach the entrance to the gorge and cross the river.

(2) There are two ladders on the other side. A large one on the right, which should not be used as the circuit is closed and it is not passable. A small one on the left, which will take you to another path if you still have energy. Take this small ladder, which will give you access to a viewpoint overlooking the distant waterfall.

(3) Turn back and follow the route uphill in the opposite direction to return to the car park (S/E).
