Chenonceaux Castle circular - vineyards - banks of the Cher
Ah, Chenonceaux! Without a doubt my favourite château. Exploring the surrounding area is a real pleasure, with vineyards, peaceful villages and the banks of the Cher. Very peaceful, even if there are a few hills, but it's for a good cause: views that are well worth seeing and seeing again. Hybrid or mountain bikes are recommended. Lunch breaks are available in Chenonceaux, Bléré or Saint-Georges-du-Cher.

From Mareuil-sur-Cher to Saint-Aignan-sur-Cher, following the banks of the Cher
This unpretentious one-way route is an invitation to discover the banks of the Cher and admire one of the remains of the dams regulating the river, complete with its operational building. Partially shaded, it is particularly beautiful and the light is at its best if walked in the afternoon from 4.00 pm in summer. The town of Saint-Aignan is in talks with the riverside landowners to extend the path for the final kilometre and a half.
