Walks on the Mission Hills are firm favourites. There are numerous alternative routes. The best-known route is the ‘short circular’ or Chemin du Rosaire.
The recent restoration of old paths offers a different way to explore this area, particularly via the “long circular route” suggested here.
In my opinion, the direction chosen here is the best, as the first part of the circular route is a bit steep and the second part offers a gentler descent.

Maupiti is a small island in the Society Islands, west of Bora Bora; its summit is not very high (372m) and you can climb to the magnificent viewpoint just below it (366m) in about an hour.
The view is splendid, stretching 270° southwards across the lagoon and towards the single pass situated between the two small motus.
The Hitiaa lava tubes

Route to see the lava tubes above Hitiaa, past the dam. These are long basalt caves through which the river flows. You can do this hike without any specialist equipment; you just need to be reasonably agile and in good physical shape.
