- 1 : km 0 - alt. 296 m - From the car park, cross the road to a stile opposite and take the path downhill to join a broad track. Go L for 300m to a large white gate and the road. - Start
- 2 : km 0.36 - alt. 282 m - Go R on the road for 600m to find a stile on the R next to another large white gate. Cross the field to another stile at the end of the dam. - Gate
- 3 : km 0.99 - alt. 286 m - Take the path going along the top of the old reservoir dam (now breached) to a stile. Through the stile continue curving gently R to reach the main road at another large white gate. - Dam
- 4 : km 2.05 - alt. 290 m - Cross the road with care to a stile opposite and take the broad track going forward. After 500m as the track veers left, go R on a narrow path uphill to the stone circle. Continue uphill for a short distance passing a cairn and then veer L to cross the open moor. - Road
- 5 : km 2.69 - alt. 299 m - After 300m you pass a large stone circle (Barbrook 2) and continue in the same direction to re-join the main track coming up from Barbrook lower reservoir. Go R along the track to join the tarmac drive leading to Barbrook Cottage. Here go R and follow the drive to reach the main road. - Cairn
- 6 : km 5.03 - alt. 303 m - Cross the road with care to a stile opposite. Go downhill on a wide track, muddy in places, to reach a stile onto Car Road (track). - Road
- 7 : km 5.97 - alt. 237 m - Go L downhill for 200m to a stile and gate on the R. Through the gate a narrow path leads to and crosses a small stream before climbing steeply uphill through the wood. As the path leaves the wood and levels out look out for a path L going steeply uphill to return to the road and car park.§ - Track
