Start at Featherstone Library, parking available.
(S/E) Turn left and walk to the end of Victoria Street. Turn right and walk on a wide tarmac path to Pontefract Road. Cross over this road at the Pelican Crossing.
(1) Walk up the road past the Junction Pub on your left and continue to the top of the road. Turn right, then immediate right into Purston Park.
(2) Walk past Star House and Purston Hall to the lake. Walk along the lake path to the far end and walk straight on, onto the grass. Continue on the grass past the sports fields keeping the houses on your right.
(3) Emerge onto Girnhill Lane and turn right in front of Hawthorn Farm. Continue on the lane until you reach the junction with Nunns Lane. Turn right and walk the length of Nunns Lane. Cross over Wakefield Road and continue straight ahead to St Thomas Church. Pass along the narrow alley to the left of the church. Turn left into Victoria Street and complete the walk by returning to the Library.(S/E)
