To reach the starting point, take a gravel track from the Bethmale pond towards the Mount Ner (Mont Noir) car park. Stop at a car park in the dip of a bend, 400 m before the end of the track. It is possible to camp on this grassy, partially shaded car park.
(S/E) Take the track that climbs towards the Mount Ner car park. This track is partly shaded in the morning.
(1) From the Mount Ner car park, the track is closed to vehicles. Follow it; it descends slightly towards the Campuls cirque.
(2) In the cirque, you can see a small waterfall. Continue straight ahead on the grassy path, which climbs steeply up the slope and through the undergrowth. This is the most difficult part of the walk. The path then winds its way up the slope and joins theGR®10.
(3) Turn right towards Étang d'Ayes, which is about five minutes away. Continue on to reach the western shore.
(4) Étang d'Ayes: "You can swim here and pick blueberries." Turn back to the previous fork.
(3) Stay on theGR®10, continuing straight ahead towards Col d'Auèdole.
(5) Pass Col d'Auèdole and take theGR®10Dopposite towards Mount Ner. The descent is very steep at first but then becomes easier.
(6) Before reaching the gravel track, take the path on the right that leads directly to the car park in the bend (S/E).
