Parking is available at the Colleville-Montgomery town hall car park.
(S/E) With your back to the church, walk along the left side of the town hall, pass the schools, cross Rue des Écoles and take Rue des Capucines. Continue straight ahead, cross Rue de Ouistreham, then Rue de la Fontaine, ignore Impasse des Gravettes on the right and take the path opposite, which crosses the Colleville marsh.
(1) Follow the path and its twists and turns, ignoring a first dead-end path on the left, then Allée des Fleurs (also on the left) in Collevillette, and reach Rue de la Mer at the entrance to Colleville-Montgomery Plage.
(2) Cross Rue de la Mer carefully, turn right and follow this street until the first left. Note the statue of Montgomery, Commander-in-Chief of the Allied Land Forces in Normandy in 1944, on the square on the right.
(3) After an optional detour to see the statue of Montgomery, turn left onto Rue des Rosiers, continue straight ahead onto Rue de la Fontenelle and continue straight ahead onto Rue du Château d'Eau until you reach Boulevard de la3e Division d'Infanterie Britannique.
(4) Turn right and take this boulevard, cross Rue Amiral Wietzel (D514) and continue straight ahead until you reach Boulevard de la Mer. Cross it and reach the seawall that borders the beach.
(5) Turn right, take the sea wall and follow the beach on your left for about 1 km until you reach the town of Ouistreham Riva-Bella, at Avenue du4e Commando.
(6) Continue along the seawall, then along the Promenade de la Paix for about 1.2 km until you reach the foot of the "La Flamme" Memorial.
(7) After an optional detour to the "La Flamme" Memorial, continue along the Promenade de la Paix for about 1.5 km until you reach the entrance to the ferry terminal and the outer harbour of Ouistreham.
(8) Turn right and walk along the quay towards the Place du Marché and the locks. Turn left, cross the two locks, walk past the SNSM building and go around the Ouistreham lighthouse. Cross the locks again to return to the town, then turn left and walk along the lock chamber towards the port.
(9) After passing Place du Général de Gaulle, about 50 metres before the end of the lock chamber and the movable bridge, turn right and cross Quai Jean Charcot. Walk along the buildings to the crossroads. Cross Rue de l'Yser, then Avenue Michel Cabieu. Turn left and follow Avenue Michel Cabieu to the roundabout, then Salle Michel Cabieu.
(10) Walk along the left side of Salle Michel Cabieu, ignore the stairs leading up to the church and take the path through the wooded park that leads to the town hall. Pass the municipal police building on your right, keep left and walk along Grange Dîmière until you reach the roundabout. Cross the roundabout and cross to the opposite pavement. Turn right onto Rue du Chanoine Louis Petit, then continue along Rue du Tour de Ville until you reach Rue du Petit Bonheur.
(11) Turn right onto Rue du Petit Bonheur and follow it to the junction with Avenue de la Liberté (D514). Cross the avenue using the pedestrian crossings and, after passing the housing estates and tennis courts, continue straight on towards Bois du Petit Bonheur until you reach the first crossroads. Turn left onto the widest path and continue until you reach Chemin des Pèlerins.
(12) Turn right onto Chemin des Pèlerins, cross Bois du Caprice and continue straight ahead towards Colleville-Montgomery until you reach a four-way crossroads at the entrance to the village.
(13) Ignore the streets on the right (Rue du Caprice and Rue du Bocage) and take the Sentier de l'Église, slightly to the left, running alongside a wall. At the end of the path, turn right, pass in front of the post office and you will find yourself at the car park of the Colleville-Montgomery town hall (S/E).
