Between Serre and Vilpion, from Voyenne to Marcy-sous-Marle

Park near the primary school on Grand'Rue in Voyenne (free parking).

(S/E) With your back to the school, turn left until you reach the first intersection. Turn left onto Rue de l'Aisément. Walk about 150 metres and, immediately after No. 5, turn left onto a grassy lane, Ruelle Jean Crinon (signposted "Accès interdit à tout conducteur" [No entry for motor vehicles]). At the end of the lane, after about 150 metres, turn right onto Rue Montante. At the next crossroads, cross the D63 (Rue Haute) and continue straight ahead onto Rue du Commerce. After about 100 metres, ignore Rue du Berceau on your right and continue straight ahead until you reach another intersection with Rue Louis Carpentier.

(1) Cross this street and turn onto a farm track opposite. At the end of the track, cross the D63 and take the rural track opposite called Ancien Chemin de Marle à Voyenne. After a right-angle bend, this track continues along Rue des Maréchaux, with imposing buildings on the left and a farm equipment depot on the right. Continue to the next junction.

(2) Immediately after No. 5 on this street, turn right onto Grand-Cour. Continue for about 100 metres until you reach Rue de Hongrie. Then turn right and follow this street for about 250 metres (there is a right-angle turn halfway along the route) before reaching its intersection with Rue du Moulin.

(3) Turn right, cross La Serre, pass in front of the old hydroelectric plant and continue for about 250 metres until, after two right-angle turns (the first to the left, the second to the right), you reach a path running parallel to the railway line.

(4) Turn right onto this path and continue straight along the railway line until you reach the first crossroads.

(5) Turn left, cross the railway line and take Rue de l'Étang. At the^first crossroads, continue straight ahead, cross the bridge over the Vilpion to reach Grand-Rue (RD58).

(6) Turn right for a few dozen metres, cross the D58 (take care) and turn into Ruelle du Tour de Ville. At the next intersection, turn left into Rue des Plombs, then cross (pedestrian crossing) Grand-Rue (D58) to leave to the left of the Town Hall into Rue de l'Église. After about 100 metres, turn right onto Rue des Serbes (one-way street except for residents) to reach Rue de la Couture (D632).

(7) Turn left. Ignore Rue de l'Église on the left and Rue des Bleuets on the right, then turn left down Rue du Moulin and shortly afterwards right into Rue de la Passerelle until you reach the next crossroads.

(8) Turn left, cross the Vilpion (footbridge) and continue along a grassy rural path. At the first intersection, turn right and continue straight ahead in a south-westerly direction to join the D63 (Rue de la Gare).

(9) Turn left, taking care to avoid traffic, cross the railway line, pass close to the station, cross La Serre, enter Voyenne and continue until you reach a crossroads.

(10) Turn left to go up Rue de la Gare, then turn right onto Rue de l'Église. Pass between the church and the town hall and reach the car park (S/E).

Don't miss: the stained glass windows in Saint-Rémi Church in Voyenne. The stained glass windows in the choir and nave feature striking colour contrasts. They are dedicated to Saint Rémi, the famous bishop of Reims who baptised Clovis, and depict scenes from his life or symbols related to baptism.
