Park in the Esplanade de Brocéliande car park.
(S/E) Leave the Esplanade car park, go to the small roundabout and turn left to walk along one end of the lake on the pavement. As soon as possible, turn left onto a wide path to continue along the lake. Stay on this wide path until you reach a well-maintained area.
(1) Turn left to approach the cave and walk around it, passing behind it. Feel free to make a quick return trip to see it up close. Finish going around the cave by returning to the wide path you followed initially and following it to the left. When it turns right at a right angle, leave it for a small path that continues straight ahead. Continue on this small path until you reach a road.
(2) When you reach the road, turn left, then follow it along the path at the side of the road for about 300 metres until you reach a pond a little further on the left and a sewage treatment plant slightly to the right. Take the path to the right of the water treatment plant and continue straight ahead until you reach the next intersection with the D773 departmental road.
(3) Walk along the road for about 500 m on the path at the side of the road. Look for two paths on the right and take the first path on the right of the road. Continue straight ahead on this path, following the path which turns slightly to the right. Before the place called Les Brières (on the map), turn right and then left a little further on until you reach a road.
(4) Turn right onto the D71 and follow it along the small path running alongside it for about 400 metres.
(5) Turn left onto the path and continue straight ahead. At the Carrefour des Sept Chemins, continue straight ahead until you reach a road.
(6) Turn slightly to the right, then slightly to the left, while following the road. The Étang du Pas du Houx is on the left side of the road. You can take a short break here: the perfect opportunity to admire the Château de Brocéliande on the other side of the pond.
(7) After taking a short break, leave the pond behind you and turn around. Walk a few metres and take the path directly opposite, going around the barrier on the left. Continue straight ahead, passing two small intersections in succession.
(8) At the third crossroads, leave the path you are on and take the one on the left, continuing straight ahead until you reach the next crossroads.
(9) At the six-way junction, including the path you are on, leave this path and take the second path on the right and continue straight ahead until you reach a barrier.
(10) Go around the barrier on the right, leaving the Château du Bois on your left. Immediately after the barrier, turn right. Walk along the path for about 100 metres. On this short stretch of path, there are houses and large gardens on both sides. When you reach the D 71, turn left. Walk along the road for a few metres, then join the pavement. On both sides of the road are houses and car parks, including the stadium car park on the right. Continue straight ahead until you reach the next junction with the D773 departmental road. At the junction, turn left and continue walking on the pavement. Then take the bridge over the Étang de Paimpont lake and cross it. Continue to the roundabout, go around it on the right and you will find the Esplanade de Brocéliande car park on your right (S/E).
ely less interesting in winter.
