Elk Falls And Ridge

Looking for a longer hike to Elk Falls? Starting from the Duncan Bay Main Forest Service Road, this route follows a scenic riverfront path through the forest to the iconic suspension bridge. Cross the span for breathtaking views of the roaring waterfall and canyon walls before taking the same trail back to your car.

Starting from the Elk Falls Parking Lot, you wind through a towering forest of Douglas firs. Continue along the short trail until you reach the Elk Falls Suspension Bridge. As you step onto the 60-meter-wide bridge, take in the breathtaking panoramic views of the deep canyon walls and the roaring 25-meter cascade of Elk Falls below. After enjoying the view from the bridge and its viewing platform, retrace your steps along the trail to return to the parking lot.

This short, out-and-back trail leads you along a forested creek bed past both Trout Creek Falls and the dramatic Mohun Creek Falls. While mostly straightforward, the terrain is often wet and slippery, featuring exposed roots, mud, and a few steep sections equipped with fixed ropes for extra stability.
