Dudley Parkrun

The course is at The Dell Stadium, Brierley Hill. The course is run on a mixture of running track, tarmac paths, canal towpaths and trail paths. Some sections of the course may accumulate mud, leaves and puddles after rain.

The route can be followed any time outside of the official event, but no marshals or signs will be in place to follow the route.

Description of the walk

(S/E) The course starts with two laps of the athletics track, after which you will leave the stadium and go onto the park, where you will run through the Green gym equipment.

(1) From there, run towards the canal towpath. After following the path running alongside the astro turf football pitch, you will continue straight, taking the path up onto the canal.

(2) Once at the top of the path, turn right and run along the Stourbridge canal for three quarters of a mile, taking in the industrial factories to the left and right.

(3) Turn right onto Foots Hole grassland.
There is a gate here, where you will run for just over 1 mile over varying trail and gravel paths, as well as running across the old freight railway, not suitable for buggies, wheelchairs or people with limited mobility.
Once through Foots Hole Grassland, you will reach the Stourbridge canal again.

(4) Turn left onto the canal and follow the same route back to the astro Turf and back into the stadium.
The course will finish with two laps of the track and a final 100m sprint finish!(S/E)

During the official event, dogs are not allowed.
Also, due to some narrow gated sections, the course may not be suitable for single buggies and we are not able to allow double-width buggies - please contact the team in advance for further advice on the course.
