Lickey & Waseley Hills

Start: Park at the main car park on Monument Lane for the Beacon. Grid ref. SO 986 758

(S/E) From the car park, return to the lane walking South-East for 50 yds and turn right into the field sign posted public footpath.

(1) Go diagonally across the field until you reach Beacon Lane. Turn left for a short walk down the lane and turn right into what appears to be a farm drive. Continue through the gates and straight on into the Beacon wood. Continue on through a beautifully gardened cottage down to the road.

(2) Take a left and immediate right down the lane underneath the A38. As you climb the hill you may want to pop into the beautiful Farm shop on the left.

(3) Then head left onto the path through Chadwich Manor Estate continuing up to Chapmans Hill Farm. This is one good straight path all the way, do not take any turns off it. You will reach a small lane as you pass the farm, keep right and walk for 40m until you see a style on your right hand side which is your entrance to the Waseley Hills. Walking straight ahead and keeping the visitors centre on your left hand side, bear right along the hedgerow until you reach a large junction / gateway.

(4) At the gateway, take a left and follow the path up onto the top of the hills with lovely 360 views. There are several different paths on the top but keep to the central path

(5) From the summit, continue in the same direction following the top all the way and eventually you will see a steep downhill branch heading slightly to your left, through a gate, continue down to the car park.

(6) Take a left along Holywell Lane followed by a right after 50 yds over the bridge (A38 below) turning right onto the Bridleway. Follow this up to Beacon Hill lane.

(7) Go straight over the road onto a track. Head right and walk up through the woods back up to the car park where the walk started. (S/E)
