From the scent of lavender to the remarkable tree in Saint-Just-et-Vacquières

Park in the car park at the Saint-Just-et-Vacquières tennis courts.

(S/E) As you leave the car park, turn right, then left, following the signs to the village centre.

 (1) At the church, turn left and continue along the road to the cemetery.

(2) Leave the cemetery on your left and carry straight on along the small road until you reach a small cottage.

(3) At the small cottage – a remnant of the railway era – turn right and carry on along the old railway line. Cross the bridge over the stream and you’ll come to a junction at a place called Pauparelle.

(4) Turn right onto a small track, heading towards Puech Péras, and tackle a short climb with a few steep sections. At the top of the climb, you’ll come out onto the D7

(5) Cross it carefully and take the small road on the other side, set slightly to the right. Head up towards the water towers and the Bel Air distillery. Continue along the DFCI track as far as the hamlet known as Le Grand Chêne.

(6) At this point, turn right, following the yellow markings, to begin a descent that will take you back down to the village.

(7) Take care at the next road crossing; turn left, then right, to pass through the village and rejoin the original path opposite the church.

(1) Turn left and, following the route in reverse to the one you took on the way out, return to the car park (S/E).
