De Saint-Leu-la-Forêt à Écouen-Ézanville

A walk through some woodland, passing through Saint-Leu, Montlignon, Montmorency, Saint-Brice-sous-Forêt and, finally, Écouen. A lovely way to spend a day with friends or family – and why not stop off at a good restaurant in Piscop before finishing the route?

17/02/2026: Route change between (11) and (12) to avoid a road closed to traffic.

Solo route completed on Tuesday, overcast weather, clearing up in the afternoon. Temperature 16°C
The trails and paths were still muddy after a month of rain.
Left at 10 a.m. from St Leu station and arrived at 3 p.m. at Ecouen-Ezanville station. Had lunch from 12 p.m. to 12:40 p.m. at the viewpoint equipped with benches and an orientation table with a MAGNIFICENT view of Paris.
An old wash house in Montlignon along the route.
An interesting walk.

There is a slight issue between points 11 and 12. After following the river, the route indicates to continue straight ahead along Rue de la Forêt, but this is the entrance to the stadium and it is locked. I chose to turn right to go around the grounds. There is a path there, which then leads to point 12.You cross an uninteresting industrial area, so the best option is to turn left at the stadium entrance. Further on, you cross the road to rejoin the route. On the other hand, just after that, the passage in front of the shopping centre and the path along the D11 are really unpleasant. There must be a way to avoid this passage without making too much of a detour.
Otherwise, it's a very pleasant walk.
