To the east of Rognac, follow the signs for Chemin de Sarragousse. Park in the car park at the top of the road, near elevation 159.
(S/E) Walk down the tarmac road for about 400 metres until you reach a Y-junction with the Malagas dirt track on the left (barrier).
(1) Turn left onto this track and, 1,200 m further on, you will discover the Malaga Waterfall cirque, characterised by a large limestone stalagmite formed by water falling from the cliff. A magnificent sight to behold after heavy rain: be careful not to slip. Continue on your way until you reach a Y-junction.
(2) Turn left onto the stony track that climbs up to the top of the cliffs. You will come to an inverted Y-junction.
(3) Turn left, pass an old cistern and, further on, you will see an olive grove on the right at elevation 137. Just before the olive grove, look for a path that branches off to the right.
(4) Follow this path which runs alongside the olive trees and joins the Vabre de Malaga stream. You will soon arrive at the Fontaine de l'Oule, which emerges from the rocks and flows after heavy rain: be careful not to slip. Continue on and join a track on the left, which you follow for a few dozen metres.
(5) Take a shortcut that climbs to the right to rejoin the track higher up, which is cemented over the last few metres of the climb. You will arrive at a crossroads with multiple paths at an elevation of 200 metres.
(6) Go through the barrier and continue along the track heading due north. Walk for about 100 m and turn right onto the path that crosses the Plaine de Maroc (private hunting ground). Join a track at an elevation of 201 m and follow it to the right, heading east, towards Jas d'Arbaud. You will come to a T-junction in front of some houses at an elevation of 198 m.
(7) Turn left heading north and walk alongside Jas d'Arbaud. Look out for the Arbois watchtower on the hillside to your right. Pass by a private property and then, further on, a ruin at elevation 201. Keep heading north-northeast. After another ruin and a hill, the track descends alongside terraces planted with olive trees: the small pass of Redon is visible on the left. You will arrive at a crossroads at an elevation of 216 metres.
(8) Turn left then immediately right for a circular loop around the Collet Redon hill. Return to the previous track and follow it to the left for 200 m to reach a T-junction.
(9) Turn right onto the track that descends steeply in hairpin bends, marked by yellow posts (gas pipes). Go through a barrier (AR105). You will arrive at an open area and an X-shaped junction.
(10) Turn left, heading south: on the right, there is a ruin. You will arrive at a star-shaped crossroads.
(11) Take the second path on the right just after a metal pole marked with two large blue and white arrows. You will arrive at a shed used by hunters and then a car park.
(12) Turn right, following a large blue arrow marked on a tree. You will come to a T-junction and a private property with a well and a fence.
(13) Turn right, then quickly left twice to go around this private property. You will reach a Y-junction.
(14) Turn right onto the main path, heading south-west. Pass under a high-voltage power line and, about 100 m further on, you will come to a fork with a small, inconspicuous and unmarked path.
(15) Turn right onto this path and descend into the valley. You will come to a junction with a path on the right, just before a ruin.
(16) Turn right onto this path and then keep left at the fork that you will soon come to. You will arrive at a flat, open area that runs alongside a stream. Pass some houses and then a ruin before arriving at an X-shaped crossroads and more houses.
(17) Turn left onto theGRP®®2013(AR101 trail). After a right turn, you will arrive at a small chapel and a stele.
(18) Keep to the right and follow theGRP®®2013trail uphill to the Rognac plateau and an X-shaped crossroads.
(19) Turn left onto theGRP®®2013trail, which runs along the Rognac cliffs. Follow the trail as close to the cliffs as possible to admire the landscape. You will arrive at the Croix de Rognac.
(20) Continue straight ahead on the path that runs along the cliffs. Notice the ancient oppidum and the ruins of the Château du Castellas opposite. Turn left and return to the car park (S/E).
