(S) After taking the only exit from Lizy-sur-Ourcq station, turn right onto Avenue de la Gare. Follow the tarmac path on the right-hand side of the road. At the right-hand bend, cross the D401 (dangerous crossing) and continue straight ahead along the tree-lined path that runs alongside the railway line. Join a road.
Yellow markings
(1) Follow the road to the Vieux Moulin farm. Turn right to cross the bridge over the railway line and take the D17 to the right for 150 m (unsecured verge). At the roundabout, cross the D401 (dangerous crossing) and follow it to the left for 500 m, walking on the right-hand verge (unsecured).
(2) Turn right onto a path that descends into the Ru de Méranne valley. This path, lined with hedges, leads into the woods. On leaving the woods, leave the Ru de Méranne and turn left. Climb up a series of bends and emerge onto a road at the corner of the Château de la Trousse wall.
(3) Continue straight ahead along the road running alongside the castle wall. Pass the outbuildings, turn left following the road and arrive at the castle entrance.
(4) Leave the road and continue along its extension via a path lined with trees on the right, running alongside the Ru de Méranne.

(5) At the junction (elevation 128), continue straight ahead along the Ru de Méranne on a grassy path until you reach a road.

(6) Follow it to the left (D3A) as it climbs to Cocherel. In the village, turn right onto Rue du Gué-Mathieu. After the town hall, turn left onto Rue du Gué-Mathieu, ignoring Rue de l’Église on the right. At the next junction, take Rue de Chaton on the left, which leads to the cemetery (water point).
(7) Continue straight ahead and cross the D401 (dangerous crossing). Head down the road that crosses the Ru de Chaton before reaching Rue de la Marmoulée in Chaton.

(8) At the junction, turn right onto Rue de Troussevache and arrive at a wayside shrine (elevation 156).

(9) Continue along the road overlooking the Ru de Chaton and pass the hamlet of Troussevache.
(10) 1 km after Troussevache, take the path leading uphill to the left.
(11) At the crossroads at the edge of the woods, head straight ahead across the fields and then along the edge. Enter the woods and turn left.
(12) Turn right onto the road that crosses the Vendrest and Dhuisy communal forest.
(13) When the road turns right, leave it and continue along the path opposite. Leave the woods and head down to Dhuisy across the fields. At the fork at the entrance to Dhuisy, turn right then take the D65 on the left (Rue de Lizy, wash house).
(14) At the junction (church on the left), take the Grande Rue to the right. Then head up to the left along Rue d’En Haut. This continues northwards along a forest track that crosses the Bois de la Gruerie and leads onto a road.
(15) Follow it to the right, pass under the TGV Est line and, at the crossroads (elevation 149), turn left.
(16) At the fork, head up to the right along Chemin des Buttes to reach Germigny-sous-Coulombs. Take Rue du Général de Gaulle to the right and, at the end, turn left to arrive at Place de l’Église (wash house).
(17) Turn left again to take the esplanade which runs alongside the church of Germigny-sous-Coulombs on its left. Join Rue de la Vallée by going down the steps at the end of the esplanade and continue along Rue du Général de Gaulle for 20 m. Turn right onto Rue des Jardins.
(18) At the junction, opposite a solitary tree, head down the road to the left. At the water treatment plant, turn right and follow the Ru du Pré des Fontaines. At the bridge over the Ru de Coulombs, continue straight ahead along the path (north-west) and climb through the woods to the exit, then continue along the road which turns left.
(19) At La Grange-Coulombs (fortified farm), follow the D17 straight ahead towards Coulombs-en-Valois (detour possible via the church).

(20) At the fork at the entrance to Coulombs-en-Valois, turn right onto the Sente de la Porte des Champs, which descends towards the Grande Rue.

Follow the Grande Rue to the right.
(21) At the wash house (the Puits d’Amour), turn left onto Rue du Puits d’Amour, walk 100m and turn right onto Chemin des Canes. At the end of this, follow the D23 to the left along a tarmac path, then walk on the hard shoulder (heavy traffic). At the junction, cross the D23 (dangerous crossing) and head up to the right along a road for 150 metres.
(22) At the fork, near a copse of trees, take the left-hand road leading up to the gas storage station. At the T-junction, turn left and at the next junction, turn right. Cross the Ru de Bouribou, turn left, then right, before heading north-west and entering the Bois de Vaubroutin.
(23) At the junction (marker 125), take the path on the left.
(24) At the fork, take the path on the right which runs alongside a paintball field and then the Château de Belle Vue.
No signposting
(25) At the junction, continue straight ahead. In Crouy-sur-Ourcq, cross Rue du Bois Belleau (D102A) and walk alongside the cemetery. Continue along Rue Hugon, Place du Marché and Rue du Général de Gaulle.
(26) At the T-junction, turn left onto Rue des Étuves, then turn right and walk along Place du Champivert.
Red and white markings
(27) At the fork, turn left onto Avenue de la Gare. Pass by the foot of the keep of the former Château du Houssoy and turn right to reach Crouy-sur-Ourcq station (E).
