Description of the route

Start from the car park next to the church, Rue Jolivet.

(S/E) With your back to the car park, turn right onto Rue de Lattre. At the crossroads with a Calvary in the centre, carry straight on along Rue Dano. Pass a wash house down below on the left and continue to the next fork in the road.

(1) Turn left onto Rue du Pré Tan. At the end, turn right, pass the hamlet of Rocher, keep right at the next junction and join the road on the left, heading towards Quinquizio.

(2) Ignore this road and turn right onto the farm track that starts between two houses. Head into the forest, then turn right into the woods, following the path.

At the forest track, turn left and join Rue du Calvaire. Turn left, then continue along the D5, following the verge through the grass. Carry on for about fifty metres, then take the farm track. Follow this (fast ride) until you reach the bridge over the Arz.

(3) Carry on straight ahead along the farm track until you reach the woods. Turn right into the undergrowth and head uphill, then continue along the farm track which climbs further. At the road, carry on straight ahead, passing buildings on your right, until you reach a junction and the greenway.

(4) Head in the opposite direction along the tarmac cycle path (former railway line). Carry on straight ahead, cross two bridges and then pass under thethird. Continue for about 150 metres after this and you’ll find the start of a path on the left with steps.

(5) Climb this flight of steps to reach a forest track where you can cycle at a brisk pace. Continue straight on until you reach the tarmac road.

(6) Ride a few metres to the right, then turn left, crossing the Route de Pleucadeuc (the town of the twins). Follow this straight road, heading due north, until the next junction.

(7) Turn right, pass the hamlet of Kerlac and continue along the farm track. At the forest track crossing, turn left towards the north, ride for about 350 m and you’ll find the start of a footpath on the left.

(8) Take this path through the woods until you reach the Pierre Branlante.

(9) Continue to the left and rejoin a forest track. Turn left, then right just as you’re leaving the woods. Follow the path, cross a forest track and continue straight on along the path until you reach another forest track crossing.

(10) Turn left towards the south. Walk for about 800 m until you find the start of a path on your right.

(11) Take this path and, as you emerge from the woods, keep to the right, walk past the stadium on your left and reach a fork in the path.

(12) Carry on straight ahead along Rue de Lanvaux, going straight on at every junction. Walk past a pond on your left until you reach a small roundabout.

(13) Turn right onto Rue Saint-Pierre, then take the gravel path immediately on the left, opposite No. 4. You’ll reach a car park; cross it and you’ll come to the main road.

(14) Turn right, walk past the town hall, then quickly turn right onto Rue de la Fontaine, which leads downhill. At the ‘Stop’ sign, you’ll come to a magnificent wayside cross.

(15) Turn round, head back to the main street and reach the church and its car park a few metres further on, on the right (S/E).

A cut-short walk – we had to turn back at Kerlac, as the farmer had blocked off the farm track leading to the wobbly stone with barriers. So we headed back via the Pleucadeuc road – a lovely 2-kilometre straight stretch of tarmac, but monotonous and tedious.
A shame – we’ll have to rethink the route.

Description of point 3: On arrival in the village, turn slightly left, then at the next junction turn left to join the greenway.
Description of point 4: On the greenway, you will cross three bridges and pass under the fourth.
Point 7: The path on the left is at the junction of several paths. A sign points to the wobbly stone.
A pleasant walk, mostly through woodland. Very enjoyable in hot weather.
