Starting point: in Failon, parking near the church.
(S/E) There is a car park at 25 Grand' Route near the 'salle de la jeunesse'.
(1) Go up Rue de Buzin.
(2) At the crossroads (signpost: a niche containing a statue of Mary), take the second road on the left. First pass a small wooded area (La Sablière) and then continue towards Grand Tige. At the corner of Bois des Hussards, continue straight ahead. Here you may need to use your common sense. In this area, on the edge of the woods and fields (see map), farmers sometimes remove paths with their machinery.
At the crossroads at the end of the field, turn left to climb up to a corner bivouac at WP3.
(3) When you reach the corner, follow the path on the edge of the woods to the right, which becomes more enclosed further on, shortly before joining the Dinant road. Come out onto the Route de Dinant (N938) at the entrance to Barvaux and follow it to the right.
(4) Take thefirst left, Chemin Pré al Sault. Follow this path, keeping a stream and small ponds partially hidden by trees on your right. Cross the stream, head south-east and you will come to a crossroads. Continue straight ahead and enter one of the wild forest areas: these are hunting grounds.
(5) After about 250 m on the road lined with watchtowers, turn right onto a road leading to the edge of the woods.
(6) Pass the tree known as the Chêne au Gibet (Gallows Oak) and continue straight ahead (south). At the edge of the woods, take a small road on the left towards a castle. The road turns right and then left. Continue straight ahead (northeast) and pass the Château de Ramezée.
(7) About 300 m after the castle, after a right-hand bend, you will reach a crossroads in a small clearing. Turn left and descend through the Bois du Failon.
(8) Cross the Somme and you will immediately come to a T-junction. Turn left onto the path that climbs towards Failon.
(9) Take the path on the right to reach the church in Failon, then turn right to return to the starting point (S/E).
