In the Moëze-Oléron Nature Reserve

Do not park in the Ferme de Plaisance car park (Maison de la Réserve), but drive about 800 m further north to find another car park.

(S/E) Begin the hike with the least pleasant part, following the Route de la Plage northwards. After about 300 metres, take a path on the left that joins a road.

(1) Follow it to the left until it turns right, opposite a lock and an area where oyster farming is prohibited (despite the path being marked on the IGN map).

(2) Go left to find a path that branches off to the left, between the marsh and the beach, and follow it.

(3) Further on, continue in the same direction along the beach. Look for a structure on the left and head towards it. It is a kind of orientation table for the bird observatory.

(4) Then head inland and go through a small gate. At a sign indicating Sentier des Polders straight ahead, turn left onto a path on stilts. Continue along the path that extends from it. Further on, go through another small gate and you will find the car park (S/E).

Easy hike requiring no special equipment.
