Col des Vaus (685m) walks

A walk that takes us over small mountains through pine trees, oak trees, vineyards and lavender fields. A condensed version of the Drôme Provençale starting from the medieval fortified village of Venterol with its characteristic wrought iron bell tower. A hike to be enjoyed in spring, autumn and winter, but not recommended in summer due to the heat.

A hike starting from a beautiful medieval village in the Drôme Provençale. The climb up to the ridges of the Montagne des Vaux is quite steep. The exceptional views of La Lance, La Miélandre, Le Cougoir, L'Angèle and Le Ventoux reward your efforts. Discover the surprising trail with marl (ancient sea bed) on the way back around Courbiou. The vegetation is varied: oak trees, pine trees, lavender. You will cross a few streams and even the river if there is not too much water.
