Cissburry Ring

This is a nice little 4 mile walk up to Cissbury Ring with amazing views over looking the sea and coastal towns of Worthing and Brighton from Cissbury Ring. Best attempted on a clear fine weather day so as to make the most of the views from the peak. This is a moderate walk that is not wheelchair friendly.

Description

(S/E) Starting at Hill Barn Lane car park, turn right (East) and walk up Fifth Avenue until you see the path on the left.

(1) Turn left (North) up a gravel path.

(2) Moving up the path you reach a fork, keep left continuing up the hill. The golf course will be on your left.

(3) When close to the summit you will need to go through the gate and then carry on the same way as it curves left.

(4) When you reach the earthworks at the edge of Cissbury Ring, go through the gate. Enjoy the fantastic views from the summit over Worthing and Brighton and the English channel. Carry straight past the summit South-West.

(5) When ready to start the descent exit Cissbury Ring in the bottom left (South-West) corner and walk down (South) the right-hand side of the golf course. Walk through the golf course South.

(6) When you reach the houses, turn left (East-North-East) and walk through the public right of way through the golf course.

(7) Pass the club house and turn right to return to start at the Hill Barn Lane car park (S/E).
