(S/E) Departure from the Chanibeau Industrial Estate, where you can park.
With your back to the industrial estate, turn right onto Chemin de Chanibeau as you leave the estate. 50 metres further on, turn right onto a track, then left just before a small copse to join Chemin de Saint-Romain.
(1) Turn right onto Chemin de Saint-Romain and then left to join Route de Bonnefont. Follow it to the right, passing a path on your left, and continue for about 350 metres until you reach the next junction at Vérine.
(2) Turn left onto a path at the edge of a copse and follow it straight on until it rejoins the tarmac road at Les Riouses. Immediately take a path on the right leading towards the Croix des Rameaux.
Carry on straight ahead along Rue de la Source. At the end, turn left into Rue de l’Hospice and then immediately right onto Avenue Lafayette. Walk a few steps to the left until you reach the roundabout.
(3) At the roundabout, turn right onto Avenue du Stade and, at the junction with Route du Pinet, carry on straight ahead. Take a narrow path and turn left at the first fork to join the Chemin de Cenoux.
(4) At the junction, turn right onto Route de Cherblanc for 140 metres, then leave it on your left and carry straight on along a track which, 400 metres further on, joins Route de Petit Peyre.
(5) On leaving Petit Peyre, take a track on the left that leads into the forest. Pass under the power line, leaving a first track on your left, then a second on your right.
(6) At the next junction, turn right to reach the tarmac road at the entrance to the hamlet of Le Pinet. Continue along this road for 130m, pass a road on your left, then turn left onto the next one. Pass a crossroads and continue straight on.
(7) Turn onto a track on the left and immediately turn right onto a sandy track. Pass a track on the left and another on the right until you reach a sewage treatment plant further on. Continue along this tree-lined track and then enter the forest.
(8) At the various junctions, stay on the straightest path (straight ahead).
(9) As you leave the forest, turn right onto the path leading to Messignac. Turn left, cross the hamlet and carry on straight ahead to reach the hamlet of La Roue, heading towards the Maison de Béate or Assemblée.
(10) Take the path on the left as you leave La Roue to reach Le Rouard, staying on the main path.
(11) Cross the D43 road and take the D47 road opposite, heading towards Les Villettes for 300 metres. Leave the road and turn right, then left, to reach Les Quarts. Turn left to rejoin the Les Villettes road and follow it to the right.
(12) At the junction, turn left towards Crossac, pass through the hamlet to reach the Lachaud industrial estate. Turn left onto the D47 for 200 metres.
(13) Turn left onto Rue du Montillon, then take a path on the right which goes downhill and enters the forest. Pass close to an old pumping station on your right, continue for 200m and turn right. 1km further on, you’ll arrive near another pumping station.
(14) Carry on straight ahead. Pass the sewage treatment tanks on your right and arrive at Les Villettes. Turn left onto Rue du Marronnier and follow it for 80 metres.
(15) Turn right onto Rue du Cret. At the junction with Rue des Acacias, carry straight on for 75 metres, then turn left. 10 metres further on, turn right onto a grassy path towards Les Gouttes. At the junction, carry straight on along the sandy path, pass under the power line, then turn right onto Route de Cublaise for 200 metres.
(16) Turn right, pass two paths on your left, then join a sandy track. Pass the first path on your right, then at the next junction, turn right onto Chemin des Devises. Pass the house on your right and follow a path through meadows and woodland; ignore two paths on your right, then, at a junction, turn right to reach the road leading into the village of Fey. Turn left towards the village and the square, turn right to see the Maison de la Béate, and return to the square.
(17) Set off straight ahead onto Chemin des Près, pass a farm on your left and, immediately afterwards, take a path that descends to the left and crosses a stream, before climbing back up to the right towards a ruin in the direction of Pont de Reveyrolles.
(18) Cross the D44 road and take the path opposite, slightly to the left. Turn immediately right onto the Chemin de l’Aulanière to reach Reveyrolles. At the junction, carry on straight ahead and turn right, passing Anne Fauriel’s house. After 70 metres, you’ll reach the Maison de la Béate on the right (a house converted into a museum; guided tours available – please book in advance).
(19) Turn left onto the Route de Reveyrolles, which joins the D44. Cross the road and turn straight ahead, then right to return to the starting point (S/E).
