Circular between the Hoëgne and the Borchène

At the edge of the Hertogenwald Forest, the path takes you through fields and woods to the wetlands of the Hoëgne and then to the village of Surister, where you can discover the Château de la Louveterie between the waters of the Borchène and the Ruisseau de Sècheval.

Description of the walk

  • The hike begins and ends at the Sécheval fountain located on Rue de Mariomont-Sécheval, 15 metres before number 11 in 4845 Jalhay (Wallonia, Belgium), i.e. L: 5.90109° - l: 50.58239°.
  • To get there by car, leave the E40 motorway towards Verviers, then head towards Jalhay until you leave the suburb of Mangombroux - Stembert, then turn left onto Rue de Mariomont-Sécheval where you can park your vehicle.
  • By train, arrive at Verviers Central station, where a TEC 705 bus will take you to Mangombroux (Stembert Sécheval).
  • At the end of the street (towards the south), turn left onto Route de Jalhay for 50 m, pass No. 7, then take the footpath where your hike begins.
