Description of the walk

Park in the car park behind the ski chalet on the D9 to the west of Frasne.
(S/E) Head west. Walk directly beneath the power line and make your way to the hedge at the end of the field.

(1) Walk alongside it, avoiding the toboggan run. Continue in this direction, following the yellow markers.
You’ll reach a wide path in the Combe à l’Herse.

(2) Turn right onto it and carry on along the fence. When you reach the edge of the woods, enter the woods to reach a crossroads of paths at a place called Combe des Vaux.

(3) Leave the path and follow the markers to find your way. After entering the fir forest, reach the road. Cross it and carry on straight ahead. You’ll reach the junction at Combe Martin.

(4) Turn right. Carry on to the end of this wide track at a place called Brenaille.
Turn right and head uphill to the hut. Then head straight back down to return to the original crossroads.

(1) Follow the same route as on the way there to return to the car park (S/E).

A lovely woodland walk that follows the club’s snowshoe route very closely. Well done on the signposting, which is always clearly visible. An interesting walk for the whole family.
