Departure from the Gouffre d'Enfer car park.
(S/E) From the car park, take the path to the right of the information boards to reach a waterfall. Continue along the path to reach the foot of the dam, climbing up its left side. Cross it and continue along the path.
(1) At the signs, head towards the Pas du Riot dam and continue to a car park.
(2) At the car park, follow the tarmac road, slightly downhill, to the right of the information boards and join a path on the left.
(3) Take the small path on the left to avoid walking on the tarmac, then cross this new dam.
(4) Follow the path on the right towards Pont de Souvignet. This path follows the bank of the lake and arrives at the ford, where you can take a short break if you wish.
(5) Retrace your steps slightly and take the path that climbs to the right, up to the road.
(6) At the road, turn right onto the winding path that climbs slightly and joins a larger path. Follow it to the left until it ends.
(7) At the end, take a grassy path on the left. You will come to some houses with llamas and beautiful wooden terraces (La Fortance on the map). Walk past them and turn right, following the fence. This path is poorly maintained but passable! Continue along a wide path, with areas where tree trunks are stored, then descend to the left towards the dam, through a small wetland area.
(4) Take the path to the right of the dam building.
(8) Cross the Ruisseau des Sagnols, pass over the Furan and continue to the right to reach the Aqueduc des Fontaines. Continue to reach the vantellerie (set of control valves).
(9) Continue along the path alongside the pipeline to return to the Gouffre d'Enfer.
(10) At this point, climb up to the left onto the rocky peak of the Via Ferrata for a panoramic view of the site.
(11) Descend from the viewpoint and turn left, taking the footbridge towards the car park via the caretaker's house.
Then take the path on the left to reach the car park below (S/E).
