Start from the car park at the school in Villeneuve-la-Comptal.
(S/E) Head towards Rue de la Fontaine and, once in front of the town hall, turn left. Follow Rue du Château, continue along Rue de la Coumelle and walk past the cemetery. Follow the red markings.
(1) Climb up to the ridge via the wooded path to the right of the road.
(2) Take the path on the left ; at the top (elevation 292), there is a view of Castelnaudary and then Fendeille. Continue towards Pech Haut.
(3) Head down to the left and reach a T-junction. Turn right towards the D6.
(4) Ignore the path on the left and continue straight on along the wide dirt and gravel track. Pass in front of the Sainte-Marie estate and head down to the car park on the D6 road to Mirepoix.
(5) Ignore the road and head up to the right via a short, steep slope through the bushes (watch out for slippery patches). Continue left for 200 m, then turn right to follow a wide dirt track heading west. Continue for 1.3 km on a gentle incline.
(6) Turn right and head down into the woods. At the bottom, go straight ahead onto the stony path. At the three-way junction about 200 m further on, turn right.
(7) Head downhill towards the lake, Laval Basse.
(8) After the houses, continue along the side of the road for 1 km.
(9) Continue straight on at the fork, then, at the yellow waste bins, head downhill to the left.
(10) Join the road, turn left onto it to reach the village (S/E).
